In this workshop we'll dive into the state of the art of Decentralised Communication (instant messaging, VoIP etc) including projects such as Matrix.org, Status.im and Vuvuzela/Alpenhorn - looking at what decentralised options are available as an alternative to WhatsApp, Slack, etc; how they work technically and how you can build on them; and the existential challenges ahead in terms of reputation, identity, abuse management.
