NEW ADDITION!! Tristan Harris has been called "the closest thing Silicon Valley has to a conscience" by The Atlantic magazine. As co-founder of the new Center for Humane Technology, he has been been waking people up to the way today's Web platforms are programmed to get us addicted to staying glued to them for as long as possible.

Harris has a challenge and a warning: If we (in the decentralization community) don't recognize the social harms arising from centralized tech platforms (addiction, loneliness, mental health, polarization caused by attention-maximizing algorithms) then decentralized platforms will only decentralize the same social harms.
